Visit York, United Kingdom!

As one of the most aesthetically pleasing and historical cities in the UK, if not the world, York is a great place for a weekend visit.York is a walled city, and is referred to by some as “the UK’s favorite city”. The streets are quintessential “cobblestone” with mediaeval properties displaying a great deal of heritage.

Visit Stonegate, which has the Teddy Bear Shop, containing beautiful hand-crafted bears and stuffed animals. Also on Stonegate is the Evil Eye Bar – rumored to be the favorite bar of actor Johnny Depp. Keep walking along Stonegate and you will reach York Minster. This is the oldest gothic cathedral in Europe, and is a site to behold. You can take a tour of the historical building, and even look out across York from the very top of it.

York Dungeon is a favorite attraction of visitors to the city. There is new “Bloody Vikings” display, and you can go through the darkest depths of York Prison, and other exhibits designed to chill you to your very core. As the website proclaims: The York Dungeon Brings York’s Horrible History to Life.
If you’re interested in the historical aspect of the city, then the Jorvic Viking Museum is for you. This museum will take you back in time to when the Vikings roamed the streets of York. There are many cool exhibits, including “dig” in which you can excavate the remains of York’s Viking history. You can make your own Viking coin, and take a trip through the actual ruins of Viking homes.
At the national railway museum you can see the historic trains and steam engines, and see how the technology has progressed over the course of the last century or so. There’s also a library and archive center for those really interested in the history of the rail. There are three halls of trains, including one which is the world’s fastest steam engine! You can also tour the Japanese Bullet Train. The best thing about York Railway Museum is that entry is absolutely free, although they reserve the right to charge for some rare special events and exhibits.

On a beautiful summer day there is nothing nicer than going on a cruise of the York River Ousse. Yorkboat offers a variety of services, including the history tour, in which they will tell you all about York’s cultural and historical background on the journey. There are some more fun boat rides and some more romantic ones where you can get dinner on the river by twilight.
York also has shopping centers at Clifton Moor, Coppergate Center, and McArthur Glen. The city center is full of great places to eat and drink, including the most flooded pub in Britain, and the historic Lendal Callar. At night, there are several clubs for people who want to experience the nightlife as well as the daytime history of the city. York has something for everyone. It is a great historical and cultural city.

Island of Burano, Italy

A nice place to visit is the island of Burano. An island near to Venice, Italy. All visitors are fascinated Burano many colored houses which are reflected in the green waters of the canals, the Campanile wrong, the tranquility and calmness of the old ladies embroidered with their pillow and, among themselves, laughing and chatting in squares.

It’s like being in paradise, kids whizzing free with their bicycles, balconies with colorful flowers more beautiful, fishermen hoist the fish freshly caught from their traditional boats. As soon as you descend from the vaporetto ACTV you are in a green lawn where there’s a solemn sculpture artist buranello Remigio Barbaro, then further you dive into the banks leading to the main street. When you arrive in Piazza Galuppi, the only island of gracious ladies, shop owners, invite more tourists curious to go and admire the workmanship of the lace, then if you need to cool down you can sit in a typical trattoria buranella where you can eat delicious fresh fish.

If you do not have time to make a long stop at a bar you can catch a flight or an ice cream candy typical island (among the best in the “Compass”) in a pastry and enjoy it until you reach the end of Piazza Galuppi . Within it, as well as many other important works, there is a famous painting by Gian Battista Tiepolo.

Always in the same square is the Lace Museum, the Palazzo del Municipio, the well done entirely in Istrian stone and the statue of Baldassare Galuppi performed by Remigio Barbaro, a famous sculptor from Burano.

It remained in the square, pull over to the road, there are stalls that offer good prices for souvenirs of the island, local products in Murano glass and Venetian masks. Also in this street every Wednesday morning the market is held on the island and not far from here you can not miss is the fish market where you can see the typical fish of the Venetian lagoon.

Among the streets of Burano you can admire the various capitals at the entrance of the narrow streets up to the island’s most famous house, “the House of Bepi” painted with the use of all colors. The different colors of the houses, which today have become the main feature of the island, once served to define the property. However, there is a “legend” linked to the island’s colorful character, who says that the fishermen were to paint his own house in order to recognize it from afar during long periods of absence due to fishing. It’s really a nice place to visit.

Bucharest (Romania)

Bucharest is a beautiful, large and monumental city, and that is the most beautiful European city after Paris by my opinion.Bucharest is a magnificent city of parks, large avenues and beautiful architecture that was built mostly of French and Italian architects. Even has its triumphal arch, slightly less than it was in Paris, but equally beautiful.

While I drive to the hotel I could not hide excitement about the building which we passed. Here’s an example: on the ruins of the building of the former secret intelligence service Securities, was built a modern building of dark green glass which simply fits in. What are not fitting are the dirty streets and cars. Reportedly, there is not enough water drains at the streets and the city is not easy to wash. The city is full of hotels, boutiques, fashion clothing brands and a variety of American fast food chains. The city has 69 hotels, of which 12 with five stars.
Palace of Parliament is the magnificent building. When I saw it I left breathless. Palace of the Parliament is the second largest building in the world, after the Pentagon! Apparently there are 1100 rooms, and how large is above ground, also is large below.  700 architects worked on it. Below the building is located a bunker that was so equipped.

Today concerts are held there. From its large windows you have a view of perhaps the most beautiful boulevard that I have ever seen, Unirii Blvd. Long until the horizon, and with the fountain in the middle. Magnificent sight.
Bucharest is one of the most beautiful cities that I saw. There I was taught to reject all prejudice about anything.
